Obituary

On May 12, 2020 Thomas G. Holton went home to be with Lord. He was the son of the late John Francis Holton Sr. and Annie Virgil Cooper. He was preceded in death by his wife Fannie Beale Holton, daughter Kimberly Holton, sisters Marlen Sawyer and Teresa Cooper and brother John Holton Jr.


Thomas was born in Mechanicsville Maryland and moved to Virginia Beach and received his education from the Virginia Beach Schools System. He retired from the Virginia Beach School System after 33 years. Upon moving to Virginia Beach, he accepted Jesus as his Savior at a young age and eventually joined Grace Pentecostal Church of God in Christ in 1977 and eventually moved on to Rehoboth Baptist church and was an active member for over 25 years. Thomas served on the Deacon Board and actively led devotion for Bible Study and Sunday school.

Thomas was member of both the Adult Choir and Male Chorus. He was also an active member of the Forever Young Senior Ministry and Men’s Fellowship. He was always ready to step in gap to help in the kitchen or as an Usher.


Thomas was married to the late Fannie Beale Holton for 48 years and leave to cherish in his memory a daughter Erica Holton of Jacksonville, Fl.; sons Thomas Moore of Woonsocket RI; Michael Holton of Virginia Beach; Ronald Overton of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Tenesha Bishop, a very special grandson Alan Andrews Jr, Jaliese Holton, Ariana Holton, Emerie Holton and Madison Holton Kirksey; one sister Lucille Turner one goddaughter Monica Cornell, godsons Otis Lawrence and Ronzel Johnson; two god grandchildren Daisha Brown and Victoria Hollimon and four great grandchildren. Three sister in laws Annie Vaughn of Newport News; Doris Dozier of Jonesboro Georgia, Sylvia Beale of Upper Marlboro Maryland; two brother in laws James (Jelain) Beale of Simpsonville Beale, SC and Earl (Shirley) Beale of Virginia Beach and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Two special nieces Mary Palmer & Cheryl Rogers.
