Obituary

Tarius Pray died Wednesday June 17, 2020 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Norfolk, Virginia

Tarius Orlando Pray was born on March 11, 1971 to the late Shalaby Sundiata and Lendora Williams in Norfolk, Virginia, being raised alongside his Stepfather James R. Williams.  At the age of 49, he answered the call on June 17, 2020 and peacefully transitioned to his eternal resting place.

Man, the nickname most people knew him by, was born 2-months prematurely, fighting for life from alpha to omega. He fought a good fight.  He was always a jokester, he loved making people laugh then he would flash that goofy smile and the rest was history.  He was an excellent cook and earned the nickname “Porkchop” for his love of a “good pork chop”. Tarius studied Culinary Arts at Tidewater Community College in Norfolk, VA and worked as a painter at BAE Shipyard. His enate hands on ability enabled him to obtain several odd and end jobs.

Left to cherish his memory are his seven children Narsheka Jones of Columbia, SC; Ivory Knight of Norfolk, VA; Teaira Cooper of Syracuse, NY, Timerra Pray and Tamanika Pray of Norfolk, VA; Raven Wilson and Kalone Clark of Portsmouth, VA and bonus child Johnny Platt of Norfolk, VA. He had one granddaughter Damani and 9 grandsons Jadore, Messiah, Eli, Demauri, Doncelle, Jahan, Travis, Damir and Yuri. Tarius adored his siblings and his one wish in life was for all of his siblings to be together. He loved each and everyone of them in his own special way: Tracey Elliott and Levell Batts of Virginia Beach, VA; Tanyia Moore of Charlottesville, VA; Demetric Jackson of Newnan, GA; Carnet Horton of Chesapeake, VA; Tara Moses and Yazmine Bracey of Norfolk, VA; Jarshatrah Staton of Petersburg, VA and Chase Sundiata of Chesapeake, VA and Felicia Williams and Anthony Williams of Norfolk, VA.  He leaves one uncle James Pray and Great Aunt Addie Whitaker of Norfolk, VA and one Great Uncle George Fisher of Florida, a host of cousins, Godmother Michelle Todd, special friend Tomika Platt and a plethora of friends.
