In Loving Memory of William Bailey

March 20, 1955 - July 13, 2023

William Bailey, sun set on his remarkable journey on July 13, 2023, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished sibling, nurturing grandfather, and loyal friend, peacefully bid farewell to this world. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, on March 20, 1955, William exemplified qualities of caring, gentleness, kindness, compassion, and grace throughout his life. He graduated from James Madison High School and further pursued his education at Brooklyn College. William found fulfillment working as a certified forklift operator on the docks, unloading shipyard containers—a testament to his unwavering dedication and skill.

William’s greatest joy in life was his family. For 33 years, he shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved wife Denise, standing by her side through thick and thin. Loving three wonderful daughters, Teniqua, Erina, and Janiece, instilling in them the values of love, perseverance, and the importance of family.

William was a doting grandfather to his cherished granddaughter, Kiearra, whose presence filled his heart with boundless joy. He delighted in her laughter and relished the opportunity to create lasting memories together.

In addition to his immediate family, William leaves behind two sisters, Sharon and Crystal, and two brothers, Kevin and Greg. He was preceded in death by his dear parents Juanita and William and brother, Rodney, who surely greeted him with open arms in the heavenly embrace. Leaving behind host of nieces and nephews, Devon, who's bond was more like a son. Also lovingly leaving two sister in-laws, 2 brother in-laws, and a cherished mother in-law Mama G (Gladys).

In 1999, William and Denise made a life-changing decision to leave New York City and settled in Virginia, where they built a beautiful home filled with love and warmth. William’s dedication to his family was evident in the care and attention he poured into creating a haven where unforgettable moments were shared.

Beyond his role as a family man, William was known for his unwavering loyalty and friendship. He touched the lives of many with his genuine presence, offering support, and a listening ear when needed. His spirit of compassion will forever resonate within the hearts of those who were fortunate to call him a friend.

As we mourn the loss of William Bailey, let us remember him for the countless ways he enriched our lives. May his legacy of love, resilience, and the importance of family guide us as we carry his memory forward.

Rest in peace, dear Bill. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
