Virginia Beach

Born on Sunday, August 7, 1960, at Virginia Beach Hospital in Virginia Beach, Virginia, Wanda Myles entered the world with a radiant spirit and a heart full of grace.

She was the beloved daughter of Alice Marie Wilson and Roosevelt Myles, who instilled in her the values of love, compassion, resilience, and faith. The third of seven children, Wanda grew up surrounded by the deep bonds of family, sharing her childhood with three sisters and two brothers.

On October 26, 1985, Wanda married the love of her life, Brian Keith Edwards, in Kansas City, Kansas. Their union was built on love, faith, and mutual respecta partnership that spanned decades. Together, they built a beautiful life and family with three sons, whom Wanda and Brian cherished deeply. As a mother, she was nurturing, strong, and devoted - guiding her children with wisdom, patience, and an unshakable love that formed the foundation of their lives.

Wanda's faith was central to who she was. A dedicated member of Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, she was actively involved in church life and served faithfully as an usher. Her presence in the church community was marked by a spirit of service, devotion, and genuine care for others.

In addition to her spiritual and family commitments, Wanda was also a proud and active member of the NAACP. She believed in the power of community, justice, and equality, and she worked to uplift and support those around her.

Professionally, Wanda was known for her dedication and strong work ethic. She spent more than 25 years working at McDonald's. During her career Wanda was one of 150 employees selected from 1.5 million people in 35 countries to serve Olympians at McDonalds at the 2004 Summer Olympics games in Athens Greece. Her loyalty, reliability, and kindness made her not just an employee, but a beloved part of the community she served. Wanda eventually retired from McDonald's, leaving behind a legacy of commitment and care

Wanda Myles Edwards leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, hard work, and service. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, a cherished daughter, sister, a loyal friend, and a woman of deep conviction and boundless heart.
