Samaya Raquel Faulkner

February 2, 2002 — May 4, 2023

Virginia Beach

Samaya Raquel Samaya was born in Queens, New York on February 2, 2002, to her mother Cheryl Faulkner and father Mr. Shamin Gooding.  She gained her wings on May 4, 2023.  At the time of her death, she was residing in Virginia Beach, VA.

Samaya was born in New York.   Along with her grand- mother they relocated to Greensboro, NC in 2013, until she graduated H.S. and relocated to VA to connect with her mother and siblings. She immediately ventured out and got her first apartment in 2020 as well as a job with Paramount pest control.  She worked there for a year, then started working with IBEX as a customer service provider until a few weeks ago.

Samaya attended middle school in Guilford County and later attended Western Guilford H.S. and graduated in the class of 2020.  Even though Samaya passed away at the very young age of 21,  she had many experiences, some good and some.  She was able to see the world by travelling  with her grand-mother to many places in the United States and other countries. She attended the LTC Leadership Training for Christ in Charlotte NC numerous times.  In this program the youth learn and study the bible and display their knowledge of scripture by reading, art displays, etc.  Prior to moving to N.C., she attended the Springfield Gardens Church in Jamaica.

This beautiful young lady was a lover of animals, her dad got her first dog in 2009 and cat Layla in 2011 from ASPCA in Long Island NY , since she always had that love for animals, she got Duke (a German Shepherd and a cat name Finn last year.  She loved her pets.   Samaya was a good cook when she wanted to be, other times she really loved the fast-food menu.  She had future plans to attend community and become a homeowner one day,  she had goals and aspirations and wanted a good life.

Samaya Raquel Faulkner leaves behind; her grand-mother Bernice Campbell who raised her, father Shamin Gooding,  mother Cheryl Faulkner, two sisters Dominique Faulkner, Jahnia Campbell and one brother Jahmal Campbell and one nephew Dominick Faulkner, grand-father James Faulkner of New York.  There are so many important people that we cannot name them all, however;  a few of her closest cousins were Justin Campbell, Kayara Crooks, and Christina Campbell. Samaya loved her uncles, especially uncle Vic.  There are numerous uncles and aunts, many cousins, and her Church family of the Springfield Gardens Church of Christ and the Friendly Avenue Church of Christ.  Samaya touched many loves and all who came in contact with her loved her.

She will be truly missed and surely gone to soon.   However many of us here today know that she is in a better place, without any more pain, worries or sorrow, regrets or hurts.    As stated in Proverb 3:5  Trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart.   We should all try to lives good lives and be kinder and loving and more forgiving.  Also as stated in Ephesians 4:2 Always be humble and gentle.  Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other's faults because of your love.    In conclusion   We Love You Samaya and We know that God is holding you near.
