Mildred Haywood passed away on Monday May 4, 2020 in Courtland Health & Rehabilitation Center Courtland, Virginia.

Mildred E. Stephens-Haywood was born on October 14, 1931 in Southampton County, Virginia and passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020 in Courtland, Virginia.

Ms. Stephens-Haywood lived in the Boykins/Branchville community for over 80 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years George Stephens, Sr., husband of 11 years Jessie Haywood, and a daughter Evelyn Riddick. She is survived by sons George Stephens, Jr. (Li Ying) of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Dennis Stephens and Chris Stephens of Courtland and daughter Florine Harris of Rich Square, North Carolina. She is also survived by one sister, Christine Peebles of Seaboard, North Carolina.

Also left to cherish her memories are grandchildren Tia Monroe (Jimmy), of Clayton, North Carolina, Sean Stephens (Lakia) of Wendell, North Carolina, Toya Stephens of Courtland, Melissa Williams of Suffolk, Lakita Grant of Murfreesboro, North Carolina, Christopher Ki’shawn Stephens and Keandre Stephens of Garysburg, North Carolina and India Stephens of Columbus, Ohio, along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
