Lovidyes Conner was born on October 16, 1955, in Fayettville, NC, and passed away on August 22, 2023 in Norfolk, VA. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of a beloved individual who touched the lives of many.
Lovidyes, or Sonny as he was affectionately called, was a remarkable person known for his professionalism and dedication. With a creative spirit and an unwavering commitment to his work, whether it was serving his country in the United States Air Force, or the City of Chesapeake and volunteering in his beloved city of Virginia Beach, he left an indelible mark in the hearts of all who knew him. Sonny’s passing leaves a void that will be deeply felt by friends, family, and colleagues alike.
Throughout his life, Sonny demonstrated an admirable level of professionalism that set him apart. His attention to detail and desire for excellence earned him the respect and admiration of all those with whom he engaged. He approached every task with a meticulousness that inspired those around him to reach greater heights.
Sonny will be fondly remembered for his contributions that bettered the lives of all those who were blessed enough to know him. So, as we say goodbye to Lovidyes Conner, let us not do it with a heavy heart, but with one that embodies his spirit of thanksgiving, appreciation and love for life, his family and God. His legacy will continue to live on in our hearts, serving as a reminder of what can be achieved through hard work and perseverance.
May “Sonny” find eternal peace with his Lord and Saviour, knowing that his contributions to this world will forever be cherished. The legacy he leaves behind to honor his memory is his daughter, Elisha Mills (Marc), two granddaughters, Nia Lillie and Zoie, and surviving siblings Mallie Monroe (James), Betty Taylor (Clarence) and Tammy Conner-Moore (James) with a sundry of nephews, James Jr., Vaughn, Stevlan, James IV, Brandon and Kevin and niece Chantal.
