Louise Carol Williams

Louise Carolyn Williams, affectionately known as “Sister, Big Lou, Weezy. Louise was born in Trenton, New Jersey to her proud and late parents, Howard Brooks and Elisie Lee Brannon- Brooks and settled in Greenport Long Island in the late 1950’s. Louise gave herself to the lord at an early age and was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Southold, NY.

In 1963 Louise moved from Greenport Long Island, NY to Norfolk, Virginia. She married the "late" Woodrow Wilson Williams Sr and lived in Norfolk, VA. Louise was an excellent hand dancer and enjoyed listening to spirituals and jazz, she enjoyed all holidays especially Christmas for family gatherings, cooking and feeding her family. The joy she had for family gatherings was priceless.

Louise was called home on January 21, 2024. Proceeded by her husband Woodrow Wilson Williams Sr, parents Howard Brooks, Elisie Lee Brannon-Brooks (NY), Grandparents: Homer & Sylvia Brown (Clarksville, NJ). Children: Oliver Young Jr, Theresa Young. Stepchildren Woodrow Williams Jr, Earnest Williams, Barbara Williams, Anthony Williams, James Williams. Sister’s & Brother’s: Frederick Brooks, James Leroy Brooks, Elizabeth LaMarr, Ferman Brooks, Harriet Cosby, (Twin Brother) Louis Brooks, Virginia Montaque and Robert Brooks.

Louise is survived by her sister Dorothy Walton (MD). Children: Cynthia Brooks-Allen, (Lorenzo Allen) (VA), Selina Brooks (VA), Floyd Young (ME), Ida Butler (Michael Butler) (VA), Sylvia Brooks (VA) and Alexander Williams (VA). Stepchildren Georgia Taylor, Joyce Williams, Michael Williams, all of VA, Uncle: Edward Brannon (NJ) Aunt: Slyvia Coleman (NJ) Cousin: Clyde & Cynthia Brooks (NC).

She also leaves behind to cherish her memories twenty grandchildren, including nine step grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephew, best friends: Diane Pratt (VA), Walter (Peaches) Winslow (VA), whom she adored.

Louise has a host of friends and family who truly adored her, and we thank you all for showering her life with love.

Louise touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her, and in her honor, we should do the same. Rest in paradise Louise, We Love you.
