Lorna Mae Priddy

Lorna Mae Priddy, age 51, of Virginia Beach, VA, drew her last breath on April 14, 2023 at 9:15pm in her home after a long and arduous fight with small cell lung cancer. She will forever inspire us with her strength and courage as this battle was not easy.

Lorna was born on January 30, 1972 to Edward Lawrence Vincent and Delphine Vincent (Spencer) in Darby, Pennsylvania. Lorna was the 7^th Lorna Mae in her family. Not long after her birth her family moved to Ukia, California where her brother Alexzander Phillip Vincent was born in 1974. Her family lived in multiple states including Ohio, Maryland, and Kentucky, before settling in Virginia Beach, Virginia on Raintree Rd in 1987.

She was the caregiver in her family for most of her life. Taking care of her brother, Alex, and two sisters, Cecelia Lee Vincent and Jeanne Anne Vincent, was a big part of her childhood. She was removed from school in the 9^th grade to work at a restaurant to help support her siblings and parents. Lorna always wished she could have finished her schooling. Unofficially, she completed the 11^th grade in 2020.

She met her first husband Dennis Wayne Barnes, in 1989. Shortly after, Lorna gave birth to her daughter Lorna Mae Barnes, the 8^th, in 1990. In the summer of 1993 Lorna and Dennis got married surrounded by family. In the spring of 1994, Lorna gave birth to another daughter, Kristina Marie Barnes. Lorna and Dennis separated in 1999.

Early in the year of 2000 Lorna didn’t know it yet, but she met the love of her life, Merious Devainey Priddy. At the time he had been a friend of her brothers that had just happened to be visiting. They officially became a couple in late 2000. Was it love at first sight? No. But it became a love that will last a lifetime.

In October of 2011 Lorna and Merious welcomed a baby boy into their lives and named him Caleb Edward Vincent. He was the light of Lorna’s life and she adored him with her whole being. 

Lorna had many jobs over the years. She was a waitress at multiple restaurants, a cashier at department stores and convenience stores, ride operator at Busch Gardens, a cab driver, and a dispatcher for a cab company. The job she was most proud of was being a mom. She loved her children very much.

Lorna is survived by a very large family, starting with her husband Merious Devainey Priddy and their adopted son, Caleb Edward Vincent. Lorna’s first daughter Lorna Mae Barnes – Freeman (Barnes) and her significant other Charles Marshall II and their son Charles Marshall III. Her second daughter Kristina Marie Nosay (Barnes) and her husband Peter Nosay, with their two children Everly and Levi Nosay. Her brother Alexzander Phillip Vincent and his significant other Christine Chillington and their two daughters, Narissa and Zyann Vincent. Lorna’s sisters Jeanne Anne Murphy (Vincent) and Cecelia Lee Mumford (Vincent). Over the years Lorna has discovered she has 6 other sisters from her fathers side: Emma Vincent, Eleanor, Kathy, AnnaMarie Lisinski, Lisa Mitchell, and one unknown.
