Virginia Beach

PATTON, Linda Ann “Lyn” (nee Batche), 86, formerly of Sun City West, Arizona, passed away November 17, 2023 at home in Virginia Beach VA. She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Kathleen Batche, beloved husband of 55 years, Fred Patton, and youngest son, LTC William Scott Patton USA VANG Retired.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Patton Plaster (Don), of Virginia Beach, VA; grandson, Matthew Plaster (April), 3 great-grandsons, 1 great granddaughter; granddaughter Sara Plaster Nunley (Nathan), 2 great-granddaughters; son Keith Patton (Teresa), of Wilson, NC; son Michael Patton (Lorrie) of Hudson, IA, grandson, Alex Patton, granddaughter Talia Neiman (Theo); and grands Denver and Olivia Patton; loving sister, Sharon Edwards of Akron, OH; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Hiebsch of Stow, OH; and many nieces and nephews.  An Akron, Ohio native, Linda was a 1955 graduate of Kenmore High School, always a Cardinal, always our cheerleader and greatest fan! Because of Fred’s employment with Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, they lived in several states over the years where Linda developed many lasting friendships and “never knew a stranger.”

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she loved well and enjoyed abundant family times of fun, food, games, and travel. She was an active member of Desert Palms Presbyterian Church, Sun City West Poms and Theater West until 2019. Hospitality was Linda’s gift and calling. Serving and entertaining were her passions, as she danced through life with a wonderful sense of humor. Teddy Bears and Nutcrackers abound as some of her favorite collections year-round!

A planner extraordinaire, Lyn loved a party, and every holiday was celebrated and decorated with flair, but there is no greater celebration than that which welcomes her home now to Jesus’ loving arms! Interment will be held at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery in Akron, Ohio. The family may be contacted at Debra Plaster, 1305 White Marlin Ln, Virginia Beach VA 23464. Memorial donations may be made to Desert Palms Presbyterian Church, 13459 W Stardust Blvd, Sun City West, AZ 85375.
