JoVonnie Shaunta Fields

JoVonnie Shaunta Fields was born on May 16, 1979 to John E. Fields Jr. And Loretta Helper in Buford, SC. She departed her life on October 4, 2016 at Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA with her love ones by her side.

JoVonnie was a very intelligent and cheerful child, that excelled academically. She graduated from South Charleston High School in South Charleston, WV with honors and a scholarship in 1996. She attended college at Marshall University in Huntington, WV directly following her high school graduation in 1996.

Throughout her 37 years on this earth, she spread love and laughter wherever she went and made many friends along the way. Her greatest expression of love illuminated with the birth of her three sons Christian Reid, Cameron Reid, and Cylan Reid. The love for her sons knew no boundaries. Children were always a part of her heart to where she would show mounds of love to many children of her friends and family. She would take care of each one as if they were her very own.

Memories of JoVonnie's laughter, lengthy conversation, up beat spirit, warm smile, and helpful nature will live on in our hearts forever and will eternally be missed.

Fields Sr. (Barbara Fields) of Birmingham, AL; predeceased grandfather Leroy Howard; grandmother Mary Gardener of Sumter, SC; predeceased grandmother Theresa Jackson; God-parents Christopher and Regina Hines of Cross Lanes, WV; sister Derimia Reed (David Reed) of Chesapeake, VA; stepsister Andrea Baskerville of Portsmouth, VA; brother Eric Prestley of Youngstown, OH; stepbrother Brennen Smoot (Melissa Smoot) of Chesapeake, WV; God-sisters Christina Hines and Patricia Hines of St. Albans, WV, God-brother Antonio Hines of Dunbar, WV; nieces and nephew Nyla Shewmake of Chesapeake, Va, Adonis Ashby of Portsmouth, VA, and Angel Reed of Chesapeake, VA; loving friend Tiffany Stewart of Hampton, VA and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
