Fred Smith, Jr., a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on August 23, 2023, at the age of 28. Born on May 4, 1995, in Portsmouth, Virginia, Fred brought joy and warmth to the lives of those around him. His untimely departure has left a void that can never be filled.

In his short but impactful life, Fred touched the hearts of many with his kind and compassionate nature. His radiant smile and infectious laughter could light up any room. Fred had an uncanny ability to bring people together and create lasting bonds of friendship.

Fred's family was an essential part of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them and loved them dearly. Sadly, Fred was preceded in death by his loving mother Karen Newton, grandmother Brenda Newton, and grandfather Fred Smith. The loss of these cherished family members has deeply impacted everyone who knew him.

Fred is survived by his father, Fred Smith Sr., who provided him with love and guidance throughout his journey in life. He also leaves behind his adoring grandmother Yvonne Smith, who always supported him unconditionally. In addition to immediate family members, Fred is remembered fondly by his siblings: DeSean Newton, Tiana Newton, Phillip Martin, Aislinn Martin, Kaylah Newton, and Jaylon Jones.
