Donnell Leon Jones

Donnell Leon Jones, 63, of Norfolk, Virginia, passed away on December 11, 2023, in Norfolk. He was born on June 29, 1960, in Norfolk, Virginia. Donnell was a kind, sincere, funny, and God-fearing individual who helped anyone he could.

Donnell had many jobs throughout his life, but his first love was music. He played at several churches over the years, showcasing his talent and passion for the guitar. He also enjoyed teaching others how to play this instrument. In his leisure time, Donnell loved exploring history, reading his bible, watching old television shows like Fred Sanford, and indulging in movies featuring Bruce Lee as well as science fiction movies like Star Trek. In his younger years he practiced martial arts.

Donnell will be deeply missed by his loved ones. He is survived by his son, Damon Mosely; his mother, Leona Jones; two sisters, Lisa Jones Blount (Joshua) and LaShunda Jones; one uncle, Warren Jones (Gloria); two nieces, Akarrah Jones and Joscelyn Blount; two nephews, Rhahime Hill and Johnathan Blount and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Simon Jarvis; maternal grandmother, Lorrine Jones; maternal grandfather, Donald F. Jones Sr.; aunt, Gloria A. Jones; and his uncle, Donald F. Jones Jr.
