Donna Jean Shifflett

On September 12, 2022, Donna Jean Shifflett passed away peacefully at age of 71 after a brief illness. 

In her last days, she was surrounded by family and friends, which was something that always made her happy. 

Donna was the heart of family gatherings.  She truly had a gravity that brought her family together.  She enjoyed holiday dinners that echoed with the laughter of loved ones. She would proudly showcase her 5-star baked macaroni and cheese and of course, her infamous Éclair Pie (the recipe is coded with an encryption to protect its classified composition of yumminess, the family is sworn to Mafia level confidentiality on this one). 

Donna’s personal paradise was always White Lake, NC.  This was her personal destination of Zen, providence of Peace and yet another beautifully grand occasion each August as another, yet certainly extra special, family gathering.

As much as she loved sharing these occasions and adventures with her family, she never made herself the focus of these events.  She was a true “photo-paradox”, as she rarely enjoyed having her photo taken, yet she immensely enjoyed holding the camera to capture the joy of her family in these moments. 

Donna is survived by her daughter, Renee, her three sons, Danny, Troy and Aaron, her sister Mary, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

She will be remembered for her kindness, contagious giggle and most of all for being a world class momma to all. As many of you know, she had very strong faith. She is at peace now. Thank you for being here and for making her life so meaningful.
