Clifford Lee Peters, Sr.( Buster Crab) of Portsmouth bid farewell to the world on July 6, 2023. It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, and respected member of the community.
Cliff was a man who lived his life with unwavering strength, dedication, and compassion. Throughout his journey, he touched the lives of countless individuals and made a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have known him. His legacy will forever be etched in the hearts of all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.
Born in 1947, Cliff was raised in Portsmouth VA and is a 1967 graduate of I.C. Norcom High School. Shortly after graduating, Cliff joined the Air Force before relocating to New York for training in broadcasting. Upon completion, he worked in mass communications at Norfolk State University, WAVY 10, and WTVZ 27 before retiring from the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN).
He is predeceased by his parents, Hazel and Charles Peters Sr. and sister Carmalita Horsham. He leaves behind his beloved spouse of 51 years Janice Hampton Peters. He leaves to cherish his memory three children: Tammy Peters Street, Tanya Peters Benson ( Albert Jr.) , and Clifford Peters Jr ( Valerie); eight grandchildren: Aaron Jr, Alexis, Ashleigh, Alecia, Brandon, Donavon, Makenzie, Micah and one great granddaughter Ayianna. He also leaves to mourn: two brothers, Charles Peters Jr (Delores) and Lester Peters (Sharon); three sisters Helen Lewis (Cleo), Hazel Peters, and Esther Newsome (Douglas) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Throughout his journey on this Earth, Clifford Lee Peters, Sr., enriched the lives of countless souls with his unwavering love and boundless generosity. May he find eternal peace in the embrace of serenity as our hearts remember him with everlasting gratitude. Rest in peace, dear Cliff ( Buster Crab).
