Cameron Chesterfield Manuel

February 11, 1936 — March 25, 2016

On Friday, March 25, 2016 Cameron Chesterfield Manuel went home to be with the Lord.

Cameron, a native of Norfolk was the son of the late Rev. Victor Hugo Manuel, Sr. and late Mrs. Clara V. Lamb. He was educated in the Norfolk Public Schools and graduated from Booker T. Washington. He attended UCLA and graduated with Los Angeles County Joint Apprentice in California. At an early age Cameron became a Christian and was a member of Wesley Union A.M.E Zion Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee member and sung in the choir. He then worked as a Superintendent contractor during the Vietnam War building bridges and other necessary landmarks. He retired from the family business Manuel Builders.

Cameron was a devoted father, and loving and caring brother, uncle and friend. To know Cameron was to love him. His warm, friendly smile and his delightful sense of humor will be greatly missed.

Cameron is predeceased by his four brothers Victor Manuel, Josiah Manuel, Paris Manuel, John Manuel; five sisters Mae Cornish, Rosa Belle Colston, Victoria Manuel, Hattie Williams & Ruth Manuel; son Dale Manuel; two daughters Zona M. Foster & Cynthia D. Heyward.

Our beloved Cameron will forever be loved and remembered by his five sons Jerry Manuel of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Bobby Manuel of Norfolk, Virginia, Juan Manuel of Belle Chasse, Louisiana, Carl Manuel of Arizona, Cameron Manuel Jr. of Virginia; three daughters Clara Alston of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Hattie Manuel of Norfolk, Virginia, Stacy Mason of North Carolina; two brothers David Manuel of Norfolk, Virginia, Linwood Manuel of Cathedral City, California; two aunts Mattie Dowtin of Norfolk, Virginia and Arizona Wilson of Baltimore, Maryland; one sister-in-law Shirley Satchel-Manuel of Norfolk, Virginia; two daughter-in-law Shermel Manuel of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Channell Manuel of Belle Chasse, Louisiana; two son-in-law Curtis Alston III of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Michael of North Carolina; many loving and devoted grand kids, great grand kids, nieces and nephews.
