Baby Sedrick Oliver Smith
Baby Sedrick Oliver Smith was born June 7, 2019 at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Sedrick passed gently in the arms of Jesus on August 6, 2019. Sedrick transitioned towards Heaven, where the angels are rejoicing and shouting.
Childrens Hospital Kings Daughters NICU nurses, gave Sedrick the nickname “SEDRICK THE ENTERTAINER”. Sedrick had a fiesty spirit, and was a fighter.
As Sedrick took his wings, he leaves behind his beloved mother Lily Staffeld, his loving father De’Andre Smith, his sisters Nila and Orlaith , his loving grandparents: paternal grandmother Nikita Bright, maternal grandmother Natalie Staffeld, maternal grandfather: Oliver Staffeld(Teresa), Sedrick was blessed to have great grandparents, maternal great grandmothers: Mary Tone, Mary Barker, paternal great grandmother: Linda Smith, paternal great grandfathers: Kevin Davis, James Bright, paternal great-great grandparents: John & Blanche Smith, Abram & May Davis, one aunt: Sierra Staffeld, five uncles: Brandon Staffeld(Lauren), Nathan Staffeld, Jeremiah Smith, Starr Bright II, Justin Bright, and a host of family and friends.
Sedrick you fought a good battle. God makes no mistakes. He needed another Angel. So he chose you. You were taken from us to soon. You left a great Gap in our hearts with your departure. You fought a brave battle, but now you will be one of God's soldiers in heaven. So farewell for now until we meet again.

To my daughter Lily and my son in-law De'Andre you have suffered the greatest loss a parent can a loss of a child. Loss of Sedrick is a great one. He was a angel before he was born and he will be an angel for eternity. There is one thing he will know is that his whole family loved him and will miss him greatly. I will always treasure every moment of time you were with us and think of my beautiful angel grandson daily. Sedrick spread your wings

To my son De'Andre and my daughter in love Lily. I want to express my sincere sympathy to you in the loss of your son, my grandson Sedrick. John 14:1-4
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God [a]; believe also in me. My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going." So therefore we know where Sedrick was going. It hurts yes I know but Revelation 21:4 says And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Those who have sorrow, pain and crying here on earth can be comforted knowing that there will be a day when we will feel none of these things in Heaven. But God has given us the strength to fight through sorrow and pain on this earth.
Love your mother
